Sean Greene (U.S. Small Business Administration. )
Fueling the Innovation Economy
Location: Independence Ballroom A

Ample evidence shows that entrepreneurs and small businesses are the primary drivers of innovation and job creation in the economy. When job creation matters more than ever, what role is there for the federal government? How can the government encourage more startups, or help companies scale and grow faster? Is it possible for the government to be more entrepreneurial?

Sean Greene, an entrepreneur and early stage investor now currently at the Small Business Administration, will discuss “entrepreneur-friendly” changes in the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC), Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), and other programs, and will suggest that entrepreneurialism in government need not be an oxymoron.
